## Description

The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) is the leading learned society in the United States dedicated to the study of the period from the late 17th century through the early 19th century. Our members consist of literary scholars, writers, historians, philosophers, art historians, musicologists, theater historians, biographers, and experts in various other fields related to the humanities. We are committed to promoting an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members to exchange knowledge and ideas.

The ASECS organizes an annual meeting each spring, where scholars and researchers come together to present their work. We also support caucuses that focus on different subfields within eighteenth-century studies and collaborate with other societies and organizations worldwide. Our publications include quarterly and annual journals that feature cutting-edge scholarship on various aspects of the eighteenth century.

In addition, we provide funding for research, mentorship for early-career scholars, and opportunities for professional development. We believe in the importance of diversity, inclusion, and respectful dialogue within our community. Join us in exploring the complex and fascinating world of the eighteenth century!
