## Description

The Antarctic Science Foundation (ASF) brings together people who value Antarctica and its role in sustaining life on Earth. Based in Kingston, Tasmania, the foundation supports and funds scientific research to deepen understanding and strengthen protection of Antarctica, the Southern Ocean and Sub-Antarctic environments. Its research themes include climate change, ice shelves, glaciers and sea ice, healthy oceans, Antarctic ecosystems and wildlife.

ASF backs scientists, supported scholars and early-career researchers, helping build the next generation of Antarctic science. Its work includes research support such as small grants for early-career researchers and the Mertz Fellowship. The foundation also promotes public communication and education, highlighting how polar environments influence global climate systems and why their ecosystems and wildlife need conserving. It advocates evidence-based decision-making grounded in scientific inquiry.

Individuals can contribute through donations, bank-transfer gift pledges and gifts in wills. Organisations can support research through ASF’s Corporate Partner Program, which develops and funds research partnerships.
