What sets AWFF apart is its focus on screening Oscar and Golden Globe-submitted films from Asia for Best Foreign Language Film. In fact, since its inception, the festival has proudly showcased over 100 Oscar and 50 Golden Globe submissions. By participating in AWFF, filmmakers have the opportunity to navigate the challenging awards season, including presenting their films to prestigious organizations like the Academy and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

AWFF champions films from over 50 countries across Asia, ranging from Turkey to Japan and Russia to India.
