## Description

ASIC, the Association for Child Health of Coimbra, is a nonprofit organisation in Portugal dedicated to promoting children’s health, supporting children affected by illness, and providing social support. It advances these aims by encouraging scientific development, professional training and cooperation in paediatrics. The association works with healthcare professionals, public and private organisations, Coimbra’s Paediatric Hospital and other institutions to support initiatives that can improve children’s wellbeing and quality of life.

ASIC organises paediatrics and child-health congresses, courses, scientific meetings and other professional events. Its website provides event information and registration, and directs contributors to an online platform for submitting abstracts and supporting documents. The association also supports scientific publications and offers books and educational or technical resources related to child health. ASIC published the journal Saúde Infantil until 2023.

Healthcare professionals and others can apply to become members, update their details and pay annual fees through the website; membership may include discounts on some events.
