## Description

ASINA is an innovative project focused on enhancing the safety and efficacy of nano-enabled products (NEPs) through its Safe-by-Design (SbD) methodology. Launched on March 1, 2020, and backed by €5.99 million from the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, ASINA strives to fundamentally change the approach to nano-manufacturing by addressing safety at the design stage rather than relying on reactive measures after production.

The project aims to support the swift industrial adoption of nanotechnology by providing entrepreneurs with vital knowledge of SbD solutions and integrating various stakeholders, including scientists, regulators, and innovators. ASINA is particularly committed to advancing value chains in clean technology and cosmetics, focusing on applications like antimicrobial coatings and nano-structured capsules.

By developing comprehensive guidelines, analytical tools, and best practices, ASINA seeks to bridge the gap between scientific research and industrial implementation, ensuring that safe and innovative nanomaterials can be integrated into everyday applications responsibly and effectively.
