## Description

ASPAS Valladolid, the Association of Parents and Friends of Deaf People, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 by parents seeking better support for their children’s education. Based in Valladolid, the association has worked continuously to support people with hearing disabilities and their families, while promoting inclusion, accessibility, equality and awareness. It began as a resource for families connected with the city’s special school for deaf students and later became independent.

ASPAS Valladolid offers services to everyone, whether or not they are members and whether or not they have a hearing disability. Its support includes speech and language therapy, psychological care, educational assistance, guidance for families and a hearing-aid bank. The association also organizes family activities, runs a school for families, supports community participation and provides courses in Spanish Sign Language. Through these services and its broader awareness work, ASPAS Valladolid helps individuals and families access practical resources, build communication skills and navigate educational and everyday challenges.
