## Description

Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association (ASRA) is a charitable trust that helps young people develop through rowing in Aberdeen. Its supportive squad system caters to juniors pursuing competitive racing as well as those seeking a more relaxed social experience and improved fitness. ASRA offers structured training, high-quality coaching, a fleet of boats for beginners through to international-level athletes, and a boathouse equipped for land training.

Young people can get started through ASRA’s Learn to Row weeks during school holidays. The association also works with local schools, delivering rowing activities through PE lessons, sports days and activity weeks. Its programmes support physical fitness while helping participants build strength, endurance, mobility, mental focus and teamwork.

ASRA’s athletes compete at national and international levels. Recent achievements include junior representation for Scotland at the 2026 Home International Regatta, selection for the 2026 GB v France match, British Rowing Club Championship gold medals in 2025, and a junior athlete’s silver medal at the 2024 U19 World Championships. ASRA welcomes enquiries from prospective rowers, families and schools.
