## Description

ASREN, the Arab States Research and Education Network, is a nonprofit international organization established in 2011 and registered in Düsseldorf, Germany, under the umbrella of the League of Arab States. It brings together National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) across the Arab region and their strategic partners. ASREN works to develop, manage, and extend sustainable regional e-infrastructures that support research and education, strengthen scientific cooperation, and advance knowledge.

Its services include network connectivity to help member NRENs deliver high-quality facilities, trust and identity services that support secure use of online identities, and cloud services providing access to shared computing resources. ASREN also promotes collaboration through projects, partnerships, and community initiatives. Its portfolio includes work on regional connectivity, research infrastructure, and cooperation with European and African networks, including EUMEDplus, Medusa, AfricaConnect, and EUMEDCONNECT. The organization convenes the research and education community through its annual e-AGE conference and supports initiatives such as the ASREN-ORCID and ASREN-DataCite consortia. Through these activities, ASREN helps connect institutions and researchers across the region and beyond.
