## Description

The Astronomical Society of South Australia, established in 1892, is the oldest society of its kind in Australia and the sole representative body for amateur astronomy in South Australia. Their mission is to promote the Science of Astronomy through regular meetings, viewing nights, and spreading astronomical knowledge. With a variety of permanent observatories and large telescopes in South Australia, they also bring smaller telescopes to schools and group venues. This not-for-profit organization relies on volunteers for their operations. The society offers membership benefits, special interest groups, telescope loan programs, and opportunities for volunteers. Honoring a rich history and governed by a constitution, they continue to inspire popular interest in Astronomy. If you have a passion for astronomy or want to engage with like-minded individuals, the Astronomical Society of South Australia welcomes your interest.
