## Description

Assange Defense is a U.S. coalition advocating for press freedom and the public’s right to know, with a focus on Julian Assange and the work of WikiLeaks. The organization brings together supporters and campaign partners to oppose the prosecution of Assange and raise awareness of its potential implications for journalism, source protection, and the publication of information in the public interest. Its website reports that Assange reached a plea deal and was released from Belmarsh Prison on June 24, 2024, after 1,901 days in detention.

Assange Defense provides news, press releases, campaign updates, and background resources, including evidence files, videos, and materials about the extradition proceedings. It also organizes and publicizes events such as rallies, webinars, and public discussions, and shares information about supporter groups for artists, doctors, lawyers, and journalists. Visitors can find ways to take action, access campaign materials, follow events, and donate to support legal and public advocacy.
