## Description

Founded in 1959, AAPPMA Le Pesquit is a fishing and aquatic-environment protection association serving the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France. Over the years, it has grown through ambitious projects and community initiatives. The association reports having the largest membership and the longest combined stretch of waterways among fishing associations in the department.

Le Pesquit supports fishing across local lakes and rivers, with designated routes for river trout fishing, night-time carp fishing, and no-kill fishing in both rivers and lakes. Its work also extends beyond recreational fishing: the association monitors aquatic environments and manages fish farming and stocking activities. Through these efforts, it contributes to the care and management of local waterways and fisheries.

The association offers fishing workshops and educational activities for schools and leisure centres, introducing participants to fishing and aquatic habitats. Based in Pau at the Maison de la Nature et du Tourisme, Le Pesquit shares information about its territory, fishing locations, activities, and local updates with members and visitors.
