## Description

Benàch Historical Research 1914–1945 is a non-profit association founded in 2011 to preserve and share the historical heritage of Nago–Torbole and the surrounding Lake Garda region. Its work focuses particularly on U.S. military involvement in Northern Italy during World War II, honoring the 10th Mountain Division, the Army Air Corps, and the historical ties between Italy and the United States. The association conducts ongoing research and makes its findings accessible through documentaries, publications, exhibitions, educational projects, and community events. Its work includes The Lost Mountaineers and documentaries about Colonel William O. Darby, as well as research into wartime aviation and local bunkers. Benàch also organizes memorial ceremonies, commemorations, and guided historical tours, including activities connected with the Colonel Darby 40-Mile March and the Torbole–Fort Smith sister-city relationship. Visitors can explore its media and historical collections, attend screenings and book presentations, or support its mission through membership, donations, and sponsorship. By engaging the community with regional history, Benàch helps ensure that wartime experiences and sacrifices are remembered.
