## Description

Prendersi Cura is a cancer-support project launched in 2006 by 16 oncology associations in the province of Pordenone, working with local health and social services and public institutions. Its mission is to support people affected by cancer and their families throughout the illness, helping them navigate treatment and care. Since 2014, the Association of Volunteers and Friends of Prendersi Cura has led and coordinated the project’s activities, bringing together organizations while allowing each to retain its own focus.

Support includes seven oncology information desks, a telephone listening service, psychological support, and a mutual-help group for patients and family members. The organization also provides training, guidance on the rights of people with cancer and their families, practical advice, and food information sheets. Additional offerings include conferences and makeup workshops for women undergoing cancer treatment. Through its network of local associations and partners, Prendersi Cura connects families with relevant voluntary support and information. The association also welcomes volunteers and donations to help sustain its work.
