## Description

Aster Mail is a privacy-focused email service offering end-to-end encryption, post-quantum security, and an open-source approach. Hosted in Germany on servers subject to GDPR, it provides a free plan with 10 GB of encrypted storage, five email aliases, and support for one custom domain. Aster says it does not use ads, scan messages, or train AI on email, and that encryption keys remain with users rather than the company.

Messages between Aster accounts are encrypted automatically, using hybrid post-quantum encryption; messages to other providers can use OpenPGP when the recipient has published a key. The service also includes tools to block trackers and remote images, manage aliases, and import mail from providers such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and other IMAP services.

Aster offers apps and Aster Bridge, which connects desktop email clients through IMAP and SMTP, as well as access over Tor. Its source code and cryptography library are open for inspection.
