## Description

AstroELDA, the Association of Friends of Astronomy of Elda, is a community organisation founded in 2005 to bring astronomy to Elda and the wider Vinalopó region. It welcomes anyone interested in the night sky, and many activities are open to the public without requiring membership. The association organises observing sessions, talks, workshops and exhibitions, including displays of astrophotography. It also runs educational activities in schools and other learning centres, helping people explore the universe through practical experiences and astronomy outreach.

AstroELDA’s work spans topics such as positional astronomy, solar activity, lunar observation, Messier objects, the history of astronomy and light pollution. Its equipment includes 200 mm and 150 mm telescopes, a hydrogen-alpha solar telescope, binoculars, a CCD camera and a mobile planetarium that can be taken to schools. The association also supports efforts to address light pollution in the region. Based at Fundación Paurides in Elda, AstroELDA offers people opportunities to learn, observe and share their interest in astronomy.
