# AstroPT - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `astropt.org` ## Description AstroPT is a vibrant online community dedicated to science communication, particularly in the field of astronomy, within the Portuguese-speaking world. Launched on April 21, 2007, coinciding with Astronomy Day, the platform brings together professionals and enthusiasts alike to share knowledge and engage in discussions about celestial phenomena and scientific advancements. The project is coordinated by a diverse team of experts, including scientists, educators, and astrophotographers from countries like Portugal, Brazil, and the USA, all of whom contribute their insights voluntarily. AstroPT offers a range of resources, including a blog that serves as the community’s focal point, a mailing list for in-depth discussions, and an astrowiki that acts as an encyclopedia of astronomical topics in Portuguese. Additionally, it provides RSS feeds for those who wish to receive updates without participating in discussions. With a commitment to educational enrichment, AstroPT focuses on enhancing scientific literacy by delivering informative articles that often include translations of international news, complemented by the authors' critical analyses. As a non-commercial initiative, AstroPT stands as a testament to the power of community-driven science communication. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Astronomy _(under Science and Education)_ ## Links - [twitter](https://twitter.com/astropt) - [facebook](https://facebook.com/astropt) ## Logos & icons - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/id_lgSyL9p/w/99/h/99/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1741289593768) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Meteor | #d58512 | accent | | Corn Harvest | #985f0d | dark | | Goldenrod | #ffcb70 | light | ## Fonts - sofia-pro — asset _(custom)_ - Lato — asset _(google)_ ## Imagery - banner _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/id_lgSyL9p/w/1500/h/500/id2hYd8PTa.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1741289593198) --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
