## Description

ASV Harreshausen is an angling and fishing club founded in 1969 in Harreshausen, Germany. Its members come from Babenhausen and the Aschaffenburg area, and the club welcomes adults and young people, as well as passive and supporting members. It manages two local fishing waters: a former gravel pit measuring about 150 by 100 metres, and a 4.3-kilometre stretch of the Gersprenz River extending to the Bavarian border. These waters support a variety of fish, including carp, pike, perch, eel and trout. The club also undertakes habitat improvement, with features such as an underwater fish refuge and plans for a shallow-water zone for fish and amphibians. Youth activities include fishing trips, practical instruction in angling techniques, fish knowledge and nature conservation, plus an annual overnight camp with other fishing clubs. ASV Harreshausen participates in Babenhausen’s summer holiday programme, introducing children to the lake and outdoor activities. Its annual family fishing festival on Whit Sunday features food, lake tours and activities for children, bringing members and the wider community together.
