Atelier Béatrice Flacher is an Isère-based art studio in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, specializing in straw marquetry for high-end interior decoration. Founded around the work of artisan Béatrice Flacher, the studio creates contemporary wall sculptures, decorative pieces and bespoke commissions, combining traditional craftsmanship with original forms and designs.

The practice centers on rye straw grown in Burgundy, sourced through a collaboration with Jean-Luc Rodot, described as France’s last cereal farmer specializing in marquetry rye. Each straw stem is selected, opened and carefully flattened into a smooth, naturally lustrous ribbon, then applied to a supporting surface. Its reflective qualities create changing colors and contrasts as light moves through a room.

A distinctive feature of the studio is that Flacher designs and makes her own three-dimensional supports, giving her freedom to develop sculptural shapes. Clients commissioning custom work can collaborate on its form, dimensions, colors and patterns. The atelier also offers turned wooden decorative objects made with specialist woodturners and transforms existing furniture with straw marquetry tailored to an interior.
