## Description

Ateliers Ouverts is an annual visual arts event organized by Garage COOP in Alsace, France, with activities also extending to Basel. It invites the public into artists’ studios to discover creative work, meet artists, and explore a wide range of visual arts techniques. The program includes studio visits, demonstrations, performances, exhibitions, concerts, and professional meetings for artists, making it a forum for both public engagement and exchange within the artistic community.

The event also offers an online artist directory, available throughout the year. Its documentation, gathered since 2016, helps visitors find artists by name, artistic technique, region, or keyword. Ateliers Ouverts shares reports, photographs, and videos of its events through its website and social media.

The 2027 edition is scheduled for May 23–24 in northern Alsace and May 30–31 in southern Alsace and Basel, with the latter dates still to be confirmed. Applications are expected to open online in February. Participation is intended for visual artists with their own studio and an active artistic practice.
