## Description

Athena Ladies Running Club is a women’s running club based in St Albans, welcoming women at different stages of their running journey. Its focus is on creating an inclusive, safe, supportive and enjoyable environment where members can learn, improve and celebrate their progress together. Whether someone is taking their first steps towards running 5K, building on an existing 5K ability or preparing for a half marathon, Athena offers groups and courses to help them find a suitable starting point. The club’s options include a Beginners Course for new runners, a New Runner Course for those running 5K or more, and an Improvers Course for runners looking to develop further. Members who already run are also invited to join the community. Beyond regular runs, Athena organises social activities that help members meet like-minded women and build friendships. The club describes itself as more than a running group: it is a community built around mutual encouragement, shared achievements and inspiration.
