## Description

The African Traditional Herbal Medicine Supporters Initiative (ATHMSI) is dedicated to enhancing the role of indigenous communities in the management of human and animal diseases through the promotion of traditional medicine practices. ATHMSI aims to integrate Traditional Medicine Practitioners (TMPs) into established healthcare systems, fostering collaboration between these practitioners and orthodox medical professionals. 

The initiative focuses on providing valuable resources for Natural Products scientists, TMPs, and farmers, encouraging networking and the exchange of ethnomedicine information on both national and international levels. ATHMSI also champions the registration of TMPs as cooperative groups, streamlining communication and collaboration across multiple governance levels. 

By organizing training courses and workshops, ATHMSI emphasizes the importance of standardization, safety, and quality in traditional medicine production. This initiative strives to bridge research gaps and support large-scale production of herbal products, ultimately fostering commercial-oriented research that benefits communities and enhances health outcomes.
