## Description

Au Bonheur Animal is an accredited Belgian animal refuge established on February 3, 2020, in Ville-Pommeroeul, Bernissart. The organization rescues animals facing abandonment, neglect, or abuse, providing them with safety, care, and respect. It has more than 200 rescued animals, including farm animals, horses, ponies, donkeys, rabbits, and small rodents. When animals are ready, the refuge seeks responsible, caring homes where they can begin a new life. Adoption and sponsorship are available, including by appointment outside the refuge’s scheduled public visiting dates.

Alongside rescue and rehoming, Au Bonheur Animal offers educational visits, activities, and workshops to encourage respect for animals and promote empathy and reflection on animal welfare. The refuge also welcomes volunteers and support through donations, memberships, sponsorship, and bequests. It receives no government subsidies and relies on its volunteers and public generosity to continue its work. Based at Rue d’Hautrage 11, the refuge is about 20 minutes from Mons and 25 minutes from Tournai.
