## Description

The Audain Art Museum offers a captivating experience for art enthusiasts in Whistler, British Columbia. Founded by Michael Audain and Yoshiko Karasawa, this cultural hub showcases their impressive collection of British Columbia art spanning from the late 18th century to the present. Anchoring the collection is the remarkable artwork, The Dance Screen (The Scream Too), a finely carved red cedar dance screen by Haida Chief 7idansuu (James Hart). Hart’s masterpiece delicately portrays traditional Haida beings and highlights the significance of salmon in Haida society and ecosystems. This unique artwork serves as a gateway between the spirit and human realms when it is danced. Designed by award-winning architects John and Patricia Patkau with inspiration from renowned museums in Europe, the Audain Art Museum offers visitors a serene environment for contemplation. With a wide range of exhibits, the museum promises a mesmerizing visual journey. Explore the Permanent Collection and subscribe to the mailing list for updates on new exhibitions and events.
