## Description

Augusta Cemetery is a historic cemetery in the Village of Augusta, Carroll County, Ohio, and the focus of a website dedicated to preserving its history and the stories of the people buried there. The site refers to those buried in the cemetery as its “residents” and presents their lives as an important part of Augusta’s local heritage.

Created by Bette Brown in 2005 and continued by her daughter and webmaster, Cyndy Solon, the website brings together extensive research and community history. Visitors can explore cemetery histories, resident listings organized by surname, veterans’ records, family trees, maps, plot-purchase information, and diagrams of cemetery sections. The site also shares historical material about Augusta Township and other cemeteries in the area, including photographs, links, and a downloadable book.

Alongside its records and reference materials, the website features personal tributes and reflections on genealogy, remembrance, and storytelling. Its purpose is to keep the cemetery’s history accessible and honor the people whose lives shaped the community.
