## Description

Ausschuss Kohlscheider Karneval e.V. (AKK) is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the carnival traditions of Kohlscheid, Germany. Founded in 1986, it brings local carnival clubs, performers, dignitaries and residents together to keep “Scheeter Karneval” thriving and welcoming to all generations. The association coordinates key events throughout the carnival season, including the Rosenmontag parade, community gatherings, a carnival service, the Fettdonnerstag celebration and occasions featuring Kohlscheid’s carnival princes. Its affiliated groups include KG Dorfspatzen Kohlscheid-Klinkheide 1953 e.V., Mafia del musica 1980 Kohlscheid e.V. and Prinzengarde Kohlscheid. For the 2026/27 season, the AKK is introducing Julian I., its first youth prince, and his Viking-themed crew. The organization also offers ways for people to get involved, such as joining as members, taking part in the parade, becoming a senator or supporting the carnival as a sponsor. Through events, community partnerships and opportunities to participate, the AKK connects local tradition with new ideas and future generations.
