## Description

Austin Lawler is a writer whose work explores the effort to find clarity amid chaos and uncertainty. After studying at Dartington College of Arts to develop his acting and directing skills, he discovered a strong interest in writing. His published plays have been performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and in pubs, clubs, village halls and theatres around the world. Lawler also worked as a stand-up comedian on London stages, an experience that informs his fiction. His debut novel, The Shoreditch Exhibition, was published by Roaringwater Books in 2022. Set in Shoreditch, London, the novel follows a world of artistic ambition and professional jealousy, where events lead to tragic consequences; the book presents a witty look at what can happen in the name of art. Through his website, Lawler shares information about his biography and writing, along with blog posts reflecting on fate, life’s unexpected turns and creative work.
