## Description

Rafiki Surgical Missions, a vital initiative of the Australia Tanzania Society (ATS), is dedicated to transforming healthcare in Tanzania through its comprehensive volunteer programs. Since its inception in 2004, Rafiki has dispatched teams of skilled volunteers from Australia to perform life-changing surgeries for individuals suffering from conditions such as cleft lip, cleft palate, and burn injuries. The organization not only focuses on providing immediate medical care but also emphasizes the education and training of Tanzanian medical professionals, partnering with prestigious institutions like Muhimbili National Hospital to offer advanced surgical training. In addition to surgical missions, Rafiki supports education through its PEC School Scholarships, enabling children from impoverished backgrounds to access quality education. Through dedicated fundraising efforts and community involvement, every dollar raised directly contributes to improving lives in Tanzania. With a fully volunteer-driven approach, Rafiki Surgical Missions exemplifies an unwavering commitment to making a tangible and lasting impact in the communities it serves.
