## Description

Authentic Writing is a writing-focused organization centered on helping people reclaim and share their stories. Led by director Marta Szabo and founded by Fred Poole, it presents an approach to writing alongside information about workshops, offering visitors ways to explore its work and upcoming opportunities. The site includes a workshop description and frequently asked questions, as well as books and blogs, videos, and contact information. Its emphasis on personal stories is reflected in the writing featured on the site and in the critical response to Szabo’s prose. Kirkus Reviews describes her style as stark and effortless, with quiet images carrying emotional intensity; Chronogram Magazine praises its lyrical precision and empathy. Authentic Writing also provides a schedule of upcoming workshops, including a Fall 2025 schedule, and directs visitors to MartaSzabo.com for the most recent updates. Together, these resources position the organization as a place to learn about its writing approach, engage with workshops, and discover related literary work and media.
