About
Description
Arizona Autism Charter Schools (AZACS) is a tuition-free, public charter network in Arizona that provides education for students with autism and related disorders. Their primary focus is on using evidence-based strategies grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support students' behavioral needs and help them access state instructional standards. In addition to ABA, AZACS also utilizes STEAM and project-based learning to engage students and apply foundational skills to high-interest projects.
With campuses in Phoenix and a fully accredited online school, AZACS is committed to providing high-quality, specialized education to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the Phoenix Metropolitan area and beyond. Their mission is to empower students to reach their full potential in motivating, compassionate environments through individualized programs, enabling them to integrate into the community as fulfilled and productive citizens. At AZACS, diversity and inclusion are valued, and they welcome individuals from all backgrounds.
The executive leadership team, including lead founder Diana Diaz-Harrison, is dedicated to the success and growth of the charter network. Lisa Long, the Chief of Staff, brings over 30 years of experience in education, and Clark Crace serves as the President of AZACS Charter Network. With their commitment to excellence, AZACS has been recognized nationally for their innovative approach to educating students with autism, including winning the prestigious Yass Prize in 2022
