## Description

Autismo SMI is a health and quality-of-life initiative focused on people with autism and other developmental disorders, their families, and professionals. It presents a structured, sequential, individualized biomedical approach developed through more than 25 years of clinical practice, observation, and ongoing refinement. The approach begins with an organized review of a person’s health, drawing where relevant on laboratory information, then identifies priorities and shapes a plan around that individual’s needs, abilities, circumstances, and family resources.

Its materials address how concerns such as sleep, digestion, restricted diets, pain, dysbiosis, and nervous-system or sensory regulation may affect wellbeing and participation in everyday life. Autismo SMI aims to help users understand possible health-related barriers and create better conditions for learning, development, autonomy, and family quality of life. The website offers distinct routes and resources for families, autistic people, and healthcare or other professionals, along with books and tools to explore the approach. It also provides professional training, including an in-person French-language course scheduled in Brussels for November 13–15, 2026.
