## Description

Autonity is a pioneering EVM based public blockchain designed specifically for decentralized derivatives clearing. As a borderless platform, it enables participation from multiple currency areas, mitigating unwanted foreign exchange risk. Autonity's utility coin - Auton - introduces innovative unit-of-account and stabilization mechanism designs to directly tackle this concern, allowing developers to expand new markets without the constraints of fiat-pegged stablecoins. Currently in the early testnet phase, Autonity is led by a dedicated community that is deeply invested in exploring the social advantages of monetary and market structure innovation.

The network operates on the Ethereum Virtual Machine with a remarkable block time of just 1 second, utilizing the Tendermint BFT consensus protocol and a Delegated Proof-of-Stake mechanism to ensure accountability. With a maximum of 100 validators, the platform’s utility coin is ATN, while staking coins include NTN and Newton. Transactions are facilitated through a gas fee mechanism controlled by the EIP1559 system, paid in ATN, alongside a stabilization mechanism that involves the borrowing of ATN against NTN or LNTN collateral.
