## Description

AvantGuard is an antimicrobial technology company focused on developing long-lasting protection against harmful pathogens, including the drug-resistant fungus Candida auris. Its work targets healthcare-associated infections and broader public health challenges by seeking to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and fungi on skin and other surfaces without generating resistance.

At the center of AvantGuard’s platform is Avantamine™, a molecule inspired by the body’s natural immune response and the pathogen-fighting properties of taurine chloramine. The company says its technology is designed to remain stable in wet and dry environments while minimizing harm to human cells and corrosion to metals and fabrics. It can be formulated for different uses, including antiseptics and disinfectants, protective coatings, and plastics additives.

AvantGuard is developing solutions across several areas, such as skincare, surface protection, water treatment, wound treatment, medical devices, hand sanitizers, and disinfectants. Its approach to Candida auris includes a topical treatment intended to address skin colonization before infection becomes invasive.
