## Description

AVDT, also known as the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians, is a renowned brand dedicated to advancing dentistry knowledge in veterinary clinics and educating veterinary staff members worldwide. They offer a wide range of services, including instructing veterinary staff members at conferences and providing clients with expert knowledge on dental diseases and oral health. The highly trained AVDT members have a deep understanding of dental diseases and can explain potential doctor-performed treatments to clients. This interaction creates a sense of ease for pet owners, knowing that their pet's dental disease is being treated by skilled professionals. If you're a veterinary technician looking to enhance your dental knowledge and join an elite group of professionals, AVDT invites you to embark on a journey to dental excellence. You can find more information about the application and credentialing process on their website. With specific guidelines for each Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) discipline, AVDT ensures that technicians interested in forming a new specialty receive the necessary support from NAVTA/CVTS. This includes electing officers, writing a constitution and by-laws, creating a credentials packet, developing an exam, and delineating the study, among other unique requirements. Once approved by CVTS and NAVTA's Board of Directors, a new specialty academy is recognized and granted full recognition after meeting the necessary qualifications.
