## Description

AVIS Comunale Chiaravalle is a local branch of the Italian Association of Volunteer Blood Donors, an organization founded in Milan in 1927. Its mission is to promote voluntary, anonymous and unpaid blood donation as an act of solidarity, without discrimination based on sex, ethnicity, religion or political beliefs. The association encourages residents to donate blood and plasma, helping support emergency care, surgery, transplants and treatment for cancer and other illnesses. Prospective donors can book preliminary health checks; a doctor at the collection unit then assesses their eligibility. Donors receive medical examinations and tests with each donation, helping them monitor their health. In addition to recruiting and supporting donors, AVIS Chiaravalle organizes activities and social initiatives open to the wider community, promoting companionship, enjoyment and healthy living. In 2025, the branch recorded 1,253 donations, welcomed 44 new members and counted 637 members overall. It also invites people to support its work through Italy’s 5×1000 tax designation.
