## Description

AVIS Comunale Finale Ligure is a nonprofit blood-donation association founded in 1952. It promotes voluntary, regular, unpaid, anonymous and informed donations of whole blood and blood components, encouraging solidarity and helping support the community’s healthcare needs. The association explains who may donate, how the process works and why blood donation matters. Eligible donors are generally aged 18 to 65, weigh at least 50 kilograms and must be approved by a doctor.

The donation process includes registration with valid identification, a pre-donation questionnaire, blood samples and a confidential medical consultation to assess eligibility. Qualified healthcare personnel then carry out the donation using single-use materials. Afterward, donors are offered breakfast to help them recover. Donors who are employees are also entitled to a paid day of rest after donating, as described by the association.

AVIS Finale Ligure highlights both the health checks donors receive and the value of blood for patients needing treatment, including people affected by cancer, trauma, surgery or childbirth-related emergencies.
