## Description

AVIS Gardone Val Trompia is a local section of the Italian Association of Blood Volunteers, a nonprofit organisation established to promote voluntary blood donation and support public health. Founded in 1965 by its first 30 members, the association has built a long-standing presence in the Valtrompia community through donor recruitment, local events, school initiatives and collaboration with other organisations. Its work is grounded in anonymous, voluntary and unpaid giving, and it recognises the contributions of generations of donors and volunteers.

The association helps eligible adults learn about donation requirements, prepare for appointments and access donor information and forms. Donors can book whole-blood donations through the AVISNet app or by phone. Following the temporary closure of its Gardone collection centre for building renovations in August 2024, donations are currently arranged through the AVIS Provincial collection centre in Brescia. Plasma donation appointments are also available there for existing whole-blood donors, with telephone booking.
