## Description

AVIS Gubbio is the local branch of the Associazione Volontari Italiani del Sangue, Italy’s volunteer blood donor association. Based in Gubbio, it promotes blood donation and encourages community members to become donors, helping respond to local needs and shortages. The association shares information about donation appointments and blood availability, and organizes events that bring donors and residents together, including its annual Donor’s Day celebration and activities for World Blood Donor Day.

Beyond donation advocacy, AVIS Gubbio supports community health and education. Its initiatives include health education, free screening events, and study grants named in honor of Professor Ugo Tonci. The organization also publicizes local agreements and provides information for prospective donors through its website. News and updates cover donation campaigns, community events, and recognition of people connected with the association. AVIS Gubbio works alongside the wider AVIS network, linking visitors to national, regional, and provincial organizations, as well as resources about blood and plasma donation. Its activities combine practical donor engagement with educational and community initiatives in the Gubbio area.
