## Description

AVIS Comunale di Sestri Levante is the local branch of AVIS, a private, non-partisan and non-religious nonprofit association working to support the public interest. Its purpose is to help ensure an adequate supply of blood and blood components for patients who need them. The association advances this goal by promoting blood donation, contacting and coordinating donors, and participating directly in blood collection in agreement with public hospital services. Founded in Sestri Levante in 1956 by a group of occasional donors, the organisation continues to serve the local community from its office on Via G. Caboto. Its website provides information for people considering donation, including guidance on how to prepare, becoming a donor and donating while travelling. Visitors can also use the online booking service to choose an available donation date. In addition to practical donation resources, the site shares news and information about the association’s identity, history, organisation and transparency. AVIS Comunale di Sestri Levante connects local donors with an effort to make blood available to those in need.
