## Description

Avondvierdaagse Nieuwendijk is a community walking event welcoming both experienced walkers and beginners to enjoy several evenings of walking together. Organised by a local board, the event offers a friendly, accessible way for participants to take part in a longstanding local tradition. Its 16th edition was scheduled for 23–26 June 2026, with routes of 3, 5, 10 and 15 kilometres to suit different abilities and preferences. Each evening, participants start and finish at Dorpshuis Tavenu, Singel 16a, in Nieuwendijk. The event’s website provides information about registration, participation rules, routes, photographs and frequently asked questions, and has offered tickets for previous editions. It also shares event news and invites people to volunteer or become sponsors. The board announced that the 2026 event was cancelled because of the expected weather conditions, while expressing hope to welcome walkers again the following year. Avondvierdaagse Nieuwendijk operates under the regulations of KWBN, the Dutch walking association.
