## Description

Avon Trout Fishery is a family-friendly fishing destination at Greendykeside Wind Farm in Longriggend, in the Lanarkshire countryside between Airdrie and Cumbernauld. It offers separate facilities for fly and bait anglers, with options suited to visitors from beginners to experienced fishers.

The 1.2-acre fly-only specimen pond is regularly stocked with Rainbow, Blue, Brown, Golden and Tiger Trout, as well as Arctic Char, with fish ranging from 1 to 15 pounds. The 1.1-acre Mill Pond is for bait fishing and is stocked during busy periods with Rainbow and Blue Trout, alongside regular additions of Brown, Golden and Tiger Trout. Fish caught on bait must be kept. The fishery also has a children’s Fun Pool, stocked with Rainbow Trout weighing 1 to 2 pounds, making it suitable for children and complete beginners.

Visitors can check fishing prices, rules and opening hours, and attend competitions and events held throughout the year. Group bookings are available by arrangement.
