## Description

The Allied Veterinary Professional Regulatory Council is a voluntary regulatory body that aims to protect animal welfare and the public interest. They ensure that allied veterinary and animal healthcare practitioners are competent and able to practice. As a volunteer-led charitable trust, their main objective is to uphold and advance the educational, ethical, and clinical standards of veterinary nurses, veterinary technicians, and other allied animal healthcare practitioners. The council establishes and maintains practicing and registration standards, communicates and consults with industry stakeholders, and advises on educational and professional standards. In the future, they plan to accredit and monitor training institutions, determine fitness to practice, and address concerns regarding performance, conduct, or health of allied veterinary nurses and technicians. With values such as accountability, care, responsiveness, collaboration, and courage, they strive to operate transparently and improve their practices continuously.
