As a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, they are licensed by the State of Texas to provide foster and foster-to-adopt services for abused and neglected children across the State. From their humble beginnings in 1997 with a single office in Round Rock, they have now expanded to 14 offices located in Amarillo, Brownsville, Brownwood, Burleson, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, McAllen, Round Rock, San Antonio, Tyler, Victoria, and Wichita Falls.

Awfc's dedicated foster parents, along with the support of their 24-hour staff, strive to bring stability and healing to these traumatized children. They provide care, treatment, and support to help these children overcome their emotional and physical injuries.
