Description
The State Bar of Arizona is a non-profit organization that operates under the supervision of the Arizona Supreme Court. With a mission to serve and protect the public in the provision of legal services and access to justice, the Bar regulates around 18,500 active attorneys. Since its formation in 1933, the State Bar has been dedicated to providing education and development programs for both the legal profession and the public.
The State Bar offers a wide range of programs designed to assist the people of Arizona. These programs include legal information for consumers, periodic free legal advice days, and other educational initiatives. Additionally, the Bar has a lawyer regulation department that resolves problems between clients and attorneys.
The public is well-represented within the Bar's governance, as four non-lawyers are appointed to the 29-member Board of Governors. With offices in Phoenix and Tucson, the State Bar provides excellent employment opportunities to over 100 individuals who deliver diverse services. It is important to note that the State Bar of Arizona is not a state agency and is funded through membership fees, service fees, and other self-generated revenue
