Babies By Heart provides holistic postnatal care, breastfeeding guidance and settling support for families adjusting to life with a newborn. The service is led by Helen Sandercock, a registered nurse and midwife since 1988, and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2016. Drawing on her professional experience and work with families, Helen helps parents build confidence, understand their baby’s behaviour and develop practical approaches to feeding and soothing.

Support includes guidance on normal newborn behaviour, early feeding and settling, and the changing dynamics within a family. Breastfeeding consultations address concerns such as attachment, milk supply, breast refusal and flat or inverted nipples, as well as antenatal preparation and returning to work. Babies By Heart also offers personalised, respectful settling and sleep suggestions informed by infant development and neuroprotective care, with an emphasis on gentle parenting and a healthy sleep environment.

The service aims to equip and encourage parents as they connect with their baby, offering strategies for both breast and bottle feeding and support through the transition into parenthood.
