## Description

Back the Bay is a community resource focused on improving the environmental quality of Galveston Bay by helping people understand their connection to the bay and its natural resources. Funded through the Galveston Bay Estuary Program, a program of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the website brings together information for residents, organizations, and people interested in protecting the estuary and watershed.

Visitors can explore a directory of stakeholder and partner organizations, projects, and people working to address environmental concerns. The site also shares practical tips for preserving Galveston Bay, information about wildlife and environmental hotlines, videos, and free online resources. Its outreach includes Bay Ambassadors, featured projects, community happenings, and opportunities to request a booth or presentation or learn how to get involved. Back the Bay encourages individuals and organizations to take part in caring for the bay, emphasizing that collective action can help protect the natural resources communities rely on.
