## Description

BACU is a Dutch family bakery whose roots date back to 1903, when baker Hein Aldenhuijsen began baking fresh bread in Boekel. Over the decades, the business grew into one of the Netherlands’ most modern industrial bakeries, combining baking expertise with large-scale production and a focus on continually improving its products with customers.

BACU makes fresh pastries for everyday treats and celebrations, including vlaaien, tompoucen and Bossche bol-style pastries. Its bakers work with quality ingredients, and the company supplies more than 1,000 shops each day. BACU reports producing over 12 million tompoucen annually and baking for more than 2.5 million people each week.

The company operates bakeries in Uden and Almere. Its Uden bakery supplies pastries to Jumbo, while BACU Almere supplies pastries to HEMA stores. In 2026, BACU moved its bread activities into Huis van Bakkers, a joint venture with Bakkerij Goedhart and Bakkerij Visser focused on supplying fresh bread to Jumbo.
