## Description

The Badger Recovery Team is a dedicated coalition aimed at conserving the endangered Jeffersonii subspecies of American badgers in British Columbia. Comprised of representatives from federal and provincial governments, the ranching and farming industries, researchers, First Nations, and conservation groups, this initiative seeks to address the critical decline of these badgers due to persecution, low recruitment rates, and road mortality. Recognized as a species at risk, the Jeffersonii badger plays a vital role in the ecosystem, yet its population has significantly decreased over the past two decades. 

To combat this decline, the Recovery Team has created a prioritized action plan utilizing a “Logic Model” to effectively allocate resources toward achieving a self-sustaining badger population. This plan includes developing critical habitat guidelines and setting long-term goals for recovery. The organization fosters awareness through public engagement and provides essential information on how individuals can report sightings and support badger conservation efforts in British Columbia.
