Belleville Area Humane Society (BAHS) is a remarkable and compassionate 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter. As a donor-funded organization, BAHS is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community through adoption, humane education, and community outreach. At BAHS, we offer a curated boutique-style experience, ensuring every customer receives our placement team's undivided attention in order to find the perfect pet match.

Visit our adoption center during business hours to view and meet our lovable and adoptable pets. If you prefer to schedule a visit ahead of time, simply fill out our adoption questionnaire on our adoption page. We provide a limited admission shelter, meaning that we only euthanize animals under extreme circumstances.

Apart from adoptions, BAHS also offers volunteering and fostering opportunities. If you're passionate about making a difference, you can join our volunteer program or become a foster parent for pets in need. We also offer resources and support to pet owners to help them keep their pets whenever possible.
