## Description

The Bundesarchitektenkammer e.V. (BAK), or Federal Chamber of Architects, is the national organization representing Germany’s state chambers of architects. It supports the architectural and planning professions and works to promote high-quality planning, sustainable construction, and a strong culture of building. Its work spans professional policy, education, standards, economic conditions, and the role of design in society.

The BAK provides information and resources for architects, interior architects, landscape architects, and urban planners, as well as for students, employers, and clients. Its services include professional guidance on topics such as contracts, procurement, fees, digital planning, sustainability, accessibility, and business management. It also shares industry research, statistics, publications, policy statements, and career information, and supports training, mentoring, and equal-opportunity initiatives.

Through its Brussels office and international partnerships, the organization represents professional interests in European policy and cross-border practice. The BAK also promotes architectural quality through awards, events, competitions, projects, and its podcast, while offering practical guidance to people planning building projects.
