## Description

Balance Odyssey is a group of “Slacklining Psyclists” who combine international bicycle journeys with community slackline workshops and donated equipment. Their rides are designed to share the activity with communities along the way while creating opportunities for conversations about balance in modern life. The group also documents its encounters and the changing places it visits through stories and films.

So far, Balance Odyssey has cycled across Central and South America, through much of Southeast Asia, and throughout Myanmar. Its documented expeditions include a 2012 ride across Central America, a 2016 journey in Myanmar, and a 2017 ride through El Oriente in eastern Cuba. On the Cuba and Myanmar trips, the cyclists offered slackline workshops and gifted gear to local communities. The team’s website shares information about these rides, maps, journal entries, and films from Myanmar, including footage from Loikaw, Yado, Yenanyuang, and Taungtha. Through travel, slacklining, and storytelling, Balance Odyssey brings people together to explore movement, connection, and the pursuit of balance.
